Video Metadata Changes Are Never Saved

Postby slimandslam » 06 Feb 2021 02:12

Using VLC 3.0.12 on MacOS Big Sur 11.2

When I try to edit the metadata for an MKV file, the changes are not saved. Haven't tried other video file formats.

I would post this as a bug on trac.videolan.org, but it says my login is invalid. When I try to reset my password, it
says my username and/or email address is invalid. When I try to create a new account with this email address,
it says that an account already exists. Why does it require a username? I don't know.

Changes are only saved if the file is in the media library. Also, metadata will not be saved into MKV file itself (this only works for some Audio formats).

I know, this is not very intuitive...
