VLC Renderer quits during playback

While using renderer to stream to my chrome cast compatible tv the movie will just stop without warning and after what seems completely random intervals of playback. It doesn't seem to matter what size the file is. Does anyone know what's happening here and is there a fix?

hi m0ph01.5
did you find a fix to your problem? I experience the same issue with an iMacPro and superdrive while rendering DVD movies to my Bravia TV chromecast.

I'm getting this, too. Generally I cast via a tab in Chrome, as it's more stable, but it means you can't load up a subtitle file. If I try VLC it almost always randomly drops out several times during a one hour program. I assumed it was my local network, but even with everything else switched off, it still happens.

Hi guys, This fix worked for me. I had to go into my firewall and create/add and exception for the VLC Player app. Steps listed below for Windows10, I hope this helps :)

1: Go to Windows Security
2: Firewall/Network Protection
3: Allow an App through Firewall
4: Scroll down until you find the VLC app on the list
5: Click on the tab that says "Change Settings" (or you can't tic or un-tic a thing)
6: Click on the VLC box then also tick the boxes that say "private" and "public"
7: Click "OK" and you should be golden

Hope this helps, :)
