VLC stuttering at start of videos with mac big sur

Hey guys,
I updated to mac big sur 11.01.
Since than vidoes stutter when starting them for about 3 seconds. also when pausing and resuming them.
Prior to mac big sur, this did not happen.
Any idea how to fix that?
