Rotate MOV videos

I would like to rotate some of my MOV videos from my Canon camera and iPhone and to play them in Apple Photos. I have the latest Catalina on my desktop Mac and just downloaded the newest VLC Media player. I have searched for directions to rotate the videos but it says to go to the Main menu and select Tools > Effects and Filters. I do not see that choice anywhere on my version of my VLC media player, version 3.0.11.1. Any suggestions?

On the Mac, you can find the option in Windows -> Video Effects -> Geometry. However, this is for playback only. This will not change your files so in other apps, the rotation will still not be correct.
