Its going bad with VLC MAC catalina

For many years I have VLC as my player but since Catalina, VLC is a headache.
If I click the VLC icon it takes minutes and some extra pushing on that Icon to get VLC open!
If its open and I opening a Video and wait too long there is no sound and has to close VLC and open again!

The most bad part is: VLC don't want to close!!
If I close VLC it keeps active (small dot under icon) Every-time.
I have to force quit in mac menu
I get a report to send to Apple what tels its a "stack" problem!

Okay what I did
I uninstalled a few times VLC
Cleared the cache and mac pramreset

Installed the latest VLC version sept 28 2020 and newest Catalina 10.15.7
the problem is still there!!

I think back on the perfect VLC times

Can you please post the full crash log on a pastebin site and post it here? Or alternatively post it directly here.

I'm getting this also. Installed the nightly build from here https://artifacts.videolan.org/vlc-3.0/ ... 7-0624/and I'm not ever getting the Mac OS crash report dialog because this is an app FREEZE (spinning beach infinitely) and not a crash per se. I've looked through Console.app on my Mac and couldn't see anything there reported for VLC.app.

Any other ideas @ePirat or others how we can get useful info to the dev team?

I'm trying to play a bunch of WAVs by dragging and dropping into VLC - they play, but the UI hangs and I get the spinning beach ball forever. also happens if I play or pause 1 WAV that's open in the player. So I end up Force Quitting.

When you force quit it there should be a log in the Console.app
