VLC 3.0.11 OSX 10.10.5 Audio Capture Error

Hi,

Streaming to Local Network... OSX Desktop to Android Phone
Convert / Stream
works.

BUT....
Open Capture Device
Fails when Audio Capture is Enabled...in Screen Capture
Screen Capture works No audio.

Everything Fails with Input Device Capture.
No video, No Audio.
avcapture://
avaudiocapture://
Fails.
ERROR: default capture device is exclusively in use by another application

But OBS 24.0 works.
QuickTime Player Movie Recorder works.

is there a way to stream OBS --> VLC ??

As the errors says, another application is using the capture device. Try restarting your mac, close all applications you have open, and then try again with VLC.

OBS 24.0 works.
QuickTime Player Movie Recorder works.
All other software works.
Of course ive tried reboot,

Screen Capture with a different Audio card also fails.

i will try to roll back / Downgrade VLC.

Open Capture Device Screen Stream Fail to Play in OSX
warning clock gap, unexpected stream discontinuity
warning feeding synchro with a new reference point trying to recover from clock gap

sound system Audioi MIDI Setup is 48khz
vlc transcode forced to 44.1KHz
samplerate:44100Hz channels:2 bits/sample:32
conversion: 'f32l'->'s16l' 44100 Hz->44100 Hz Stereo->Stereo

error main slave[0] doesn't like DEMUX_GET_TIME -> EOF
error main slave[1] doesn't like DEMUX_GET_TIME -> EOF
error avcodec Unknown option “rc_buffer_aggressivity”

Problem #1… seems to be that
Convert / Stream allows to select SampleRate.
but Open Capture Device Stream Does Not.

To further analyes the problem, we need a full VLC log, produced with the latest stable VLC version (which is 3.0.11 at the moment). Additionally we need a clear descritption what you are trying to do.

Unfortunately it will not help very much if you try old software like the VLC 2.2 series, as this is not supported by VideoLAN anymore.

i have a Matrox MXO2 video capture device, old but still works in Yosemite 10.10.5
works with OBS 24,
HouseParty for Chrome,
QuickTime,
FinalCut,
Adobe CS5, cc6 cc7,
Avid ProTools,
Avid MediaComposer,
etc...

Needs Vosaic Unofficial drivers to work in QuickTime Apps, like OBS, HouseParty, etc...

VLC in Theory6 allows Streaming from Screen or a Video Capture device,
also from any core audio compatible soundcard..

Screen capture works, but No other input works,
No audio, No video capture..

the problem with Audio is the Sample Rate,
Convert / Stream, Works,
Open Capture Device, does Not.

probaly the reason audio stream does Not work in Open Capture Device, is that Open Capture Device does Not have the Sample Rate Convert / Stream has.
that Does Work, Not live, but Convert / Stream works, streams Audio & Video No problems.

i have Activated logger in Advanced/Advanced
Net time will upload the .txt file

but basically Video device is Detected as Busy and Exclusive to other unknown App,
the Focusrite USB soundcard seems to be detected properly but there is a Buffer mismatch because Sample Rate conflict, enters in an endless loop.
