crashing since update

Hello,
VLC freezes now, frequently, since I updated my MAC a few days ago. I am using the latest version of VLC (3.0.10), and have a Macbook air, MAC OS 10.15.5 Catalina.
I have to force quit and restart VLC in order to continue. I've noticed this while playing downloaded youtube videos, and other formats.
Anyone else experience this?

Does this happen after pausing and then resuming or just while playing the video? If it happens after a pause and resuming, it might be related to the audio freeze issue that will be fixed in 3.0.11
