version 3.0.10 - casting to chromecast randomly skips to next video in playlist

Hey all,
New to the forum, I hope I'm doing this correctly
If not, please bear with me.
Issue:
I'm casting a video playlist to my chromecast and it randomly skips to the next video.
Files are mp4 - H.264, AAC
I tried:
VLC 3.0.10 Vetinari (Intel 64bit)
OSX 10.10.2
Messages:
Logger verbosity set to Error

Please let me know if there is any additional info I should provide or steps to try and fix this.

- increasing the cache time to 2000ms
- changing output module to Mac OSX OpenGL Video Output
- setting GL/GLES hardware converter to Apple OpenGL CVPX converter
