Playing bit perfect sound: possible with VLC?

Hi! :)
I use an audio DAC who has a nice feature: you can play a test file (a .wav) and know if your player is bit perfect concerning audio. If the bit test passes, you know that the DAC receives exactly the original signal.

The test works fine and passes with all players (Foobar, iTunes, Quick Look...) except VLC, and I don't understand why. :?:

I've tested it on my Mac (sound through USB or Display Port) and on an iPad (via USB), at different sound rates (44.1 kHz and 48 kHz).
I've checked that the sound rate of the system is OK, and on VLC, I've checked that the EQ and compressor are off, that the volume is at 100 %, but the test always fails with VLC.

Do I miss something?

Thanks for your help or input

Have found the solution: in the advanced settings, I've disabled the automatic resampling and it is now OK :)
