UPNP Server No Showing on Ipad

Hi all,

I have both an Ipad and an Android tablet running the VLcC player app. On my Android device I can see my local media server fine (a ReadyNAS), but there are no local networks listed when I use the same process my Ipad.

The process I use on my Android to view media on my network are;
1. Open the VLC app
2. Tap on the VLC icon on the top left of the screen
3. Select "Local Networks"
4. Select my ReadyNAS from the available networks

When trying this same process on my Ipad, there are no local networks listed. Both devices are on the same WIFI network so this shouldn't be the issue.

Can anyone help with getting this fixed?

Thanks,

i too have a similar issue: on my iphone & macbook pro(running 10.14), vlc sees my hdhomerun (as well as my eyeconnect running on my mac mini), but my mac mini (10.6) and an older mbpro (10.13) see neither...is this a firewall issue?

right clicking on upnp in left column reveals enable/disable toggle, which works on the fucntioning devices(clicking on enable toggles to disable), but not on the non-functioning devices (clicking on enable doesn't toggle to disable, remains disabled)

there are no errors displayed

ah, eyeconnect was running on the offending 10.13 machine...killing that fixed it:-)
10.6 machine still not working...
sure would b nice if there were some feedback as to _why_ upnp failed

Reading through various posting about the UPNP problem I came upon this thread.

It may be of interest to others that while I too cannot get VLC to access and play from my DMR-BWT735 from either my iPad or iPhone, I can via an app called 8player Pro. While perhaps I should not be referring to other apps here, the problem is solvable as the 8player team have demonstrated. Hopefully VLC will solve it too.
