Hello, new member here!

So, my VLC crashed multiple times the other day. Updated to newest version and then it happened. An avi file i have watched multiple times was now ONLY playing Audio and NO VIDEO. Certain other videos (avi) worked, others didn't as well. Other files like mkv or mp4 worked fine.
Tonight, i found yet another available update, so i did that too, restarted the computer but still the same. I even got the video from my external hard disk, just in case it was damaged but exactly the same. ONLY Audio, NO video.

I have no idea what to do, this is really weird, as i said other avi files do play, others do not. I think the majority of my videos do work, but still, quite a few just don't work anymore.


Anyone have that happen to you? My version 3.0.7. updated a few hours ago.

Would really like to know what is going on here....hope it's nothing severe.

would it be possible to send us a sample of the nonworking media file? You can upload it to http://streams.videolan.org/upload/, and give the file name here.

File is called: KenFM im Gespräch mit Dirk Pohlmann (Täuschung - die Methode Reagan)

I can't find your uploaded sample. Did you provide a ticket number on upload? If not, please try again without one. To make extra sure the upload succeeds, please remove umlauts and spaces from the file name.

Hi, i uploaded again, again no ticket number and the file is now called "KenFM im Gespraech-mit Dirk Pohlmann" withoout any Umlauts or spaces.

Hope you can find it and help, it's really bad not having a working media player....

Sorry guys, but even with the new update, although i thought it was better, still certain files that worked just fine two updates ago, or three, whenever i wrote to you first, before that, every file worked flawlessly. Now it just says the title of the file in the small window and it just plays the audio.
