Chromecast + different audio device?

Postby Decarabias » 31 Dec 2018 17:43

When I render to Chromecast I would like to listen to the audio over a separate device. Specifically I would like to use my bluetooth headphones connected to the laptop that is playing VLC.

But when I select my bluetooth headphones in the VLC Audio Device settings, the sound still plays through my TV. How can I get it to work please? Many thanks.

I'm using macOS Mojave 10.14.2, VLC 3.04 and VLC Mobile 1.8.3.2 (Android).

Hi, it's currently not possible without using the commandline, and might not work as expected as they can start at different time.

Many thanks. I noticed there are loads of threads on other forums with people wanting to stream their audio to a different device than the TV. So I think this would be a super popular feature if it was enabled in VLC. :-)
