I know the implementation of X.264 is experimental, but being as it is i wanted to further it's development by reporting the playback issue i noted with mkv's in 0.8.4 (official) & 0.8.5(latest nightly build) for osX.
Before i go on describing the erroneous behavior, I'll say I'm uploading the following files to your ftp to fiddle around with. (weather or not it's a known issue, the more samples the better eh?):
[Shinsen-Subs] Elfen Lied 06 [DVD][H.264][1E62217E].mkv
[Shinsen-Subs] Elfen Lied 05 [DVD][H.264][8511D9D4].mkv
Anyway, the files will open fine and the sound plays excellent, but the video will shudder laterally roughly 10 times a second (it's a roughly 10-20 pixel oscillation).
with version 0.8.4 (but not the 0.8.5 nightly) i get this error trying to open 06 (but not 05):
"mkv: No EBML header found"
but the problem is persistent across both files, despite the lack of the error message with file 05.
(a note: i spoke with the encoders of this video a while back and the files are apparently properly encoded. the individuals displayed a great deal of technical knowledge about the format as well)
As per your guide for video samples, I'm uploading .txt files with the video describing the problem as well.
if this is confirmed as a bug and more info is needed, please feel free to contact me by email (or perferrably aim) if you want me to produce more advanced debug output.
