Video frame random freezes while audio continues play VLC 3.0.4

Running VLC 3.0.4 on MAC OS High Sierra 10.13.6

When using an FLV file to watch training videos, the video (that actually image) randomly sticks on a frame, while the audio continues to play. If I click on the playback position bar it will start again, but then randomly does it. Could be minutes in between problems.

I have reinstalled the software, etc. Nothing seems to fix it, and I've never had this problem before.

Any suggestions?

BTW, I love VLC and have been using for YEARS on PC and MAC. So many thanks to all the developers!!

I have this on FLV files as well. Also on FLV files, sometimes the audio and video get progressively out of sync.

VLC 3.0.6, Mac OS 10.12.8

have that issue on VLC Player 3.0.6 Vetinari (Intel 64bit) for mac (nightly blubs)

Having issues like many members on here with shutter, freeze, frame drops etc. Is really annoying, trying to figure out the settings but ain’t no expert
