Weird 'bug?' with VLC 3.03 Playlists

I'm seeing odd behavior when trying to re-order items in a playlist. It's hard to explain - but basically if I select X number of contiguous items and drag them elsewhere in the list - when I 'drop' them they do not stay in their original order - they 'stagger'.

For example: If I select items: 'title1', 'title2' and 'title3' and then drag them down the list and drop them underneath 'titleC' - the order *should* be:

titleA
titleB
titleC
title1
title2
title3
titleD
titleE
...and so on

Instead, the order is:

titleA
titleB
title1
titleC
title2
titleD
title3
titleE
...and so on

It ALWAYS staggers like that. Then, if I reselect the moved titles and (for example) drag them 1 position upwards or downwards, they'll drop into the 'correct' order.

Anyone else seeing this behavior?

This is also happening to me on VLC Player 3.0.3, on both Mac OS 10.11.6 and 10.13.6.

When dragging an item in a playlist from a higher position in the list to a lower position and then releasing the mouse button, the item appears one line lower than expected.
So if I have the following list:
A
B
C

I drag A immediately below B and release the mouse button. The result is supposed to be:
B
A
C

But instead, it does this:
B
C
A

When dragging a selection of multiple items, either continuous or discontinuous, from a higher position to a lower position, the selected items appear one line lower, as in the previous example.
Additionally, the selected items are split up and mixed with the other items, as described by the first poster.

When dragging items from a lower position to a higher position, it behaves correctly.

There is a bug which will be fixed with VLC 3.0.4.
