Audio starting with 1-2 sec delay

I'm running macOS Sierra 10.12.6 and VLC 2.2.6. I've been having a consistent problem that when playing MP3s in VLC on a playlist, it starts the audio a second or two late. I have to go into the app and manually rewind each song to the beginning to start it from the top. What's going on here?

I too have noticed this behavior with FLAC files and MP3s. Im not sure if its happening with video, as most videos have a moment or 2 of silence in the beginning.

Still having this problem, even on a new machine. VLC 3.0.4 and macOS Mojave. I'm using Bluetooth headphones. The problem seems to be specific to VLC (e.g., it doesn't happen in iTunes). Any thoughts?

Hi, this is a clock issue (if you see it somewhere else), it will be fixed in 4.0 release. For more advanced details, you can look at the following talk: https://youtu.be/OUt9QxmomjM?t=409
It's the resampling issue JB is talking about.

Thanks unidan! Is there an estimate on when 4.0 will be released? Is there any way to deal with this issue in the meantime?

Hi, unfortunately I don't :/ About the issue, there's nothing we can do currently, the clock rework is still being rewritten currently
