Is it possible to edit the fullscreen controller on Mac?

According to VLC help pages, you can edit any of the video controller interfaces, including the fullscreen controller, using the "Customize Interface" menu item of the "Tools" menu. Only problem? On my mac, I have neither a Tools menu nor a Customize Interface menu item in any other menu. Is it possible to edit these interfaces on a mac? In particular, I would like to have a stop button on my fullscreen controller (by default it only has a play/pause button). TIA.

Unfortunately, this help page is only valid for the Windows and Linux UI of VLC, not the Mac one.
