Impossible to format subtitles!

Postby Dan_Titan » 17 Mar 2017 00:47

Hi,

I posted about this a while ago: https://forum.videolan.org/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=136799

I'm on Mac OS X 10.11.6 using VLC Version 2.2.4 Weatherwax (Intel 64bit) on an old MacPro (early 2008) desktop.

4-5 months ago, no problems at all formatting subtitles. I could change size, font, color, background (and its opacity) and everything else. Now, there's no way at all. All I get is white text, normal size, no background. Meaning that the text blends into the videos and makes it - disappear.

I wouldn't whine about this unless I really, really need subtitling.

Please, please, please fix this!

Cheers,
Dan

PS:

Forgot to tell that I've tried deleting all VLC files (including prefernces, etc), reinstaling latest version as well as previous versions over and over again to no avail.

Have you had any success with this? I am having the same problem on my Macbook Pro. 17" No matter what I do, its white text with a white outline and can't read the subtitles. I've tried all kinds of settings and different videos.
