VLC Playback disappearing trick.

Hey!

I'm using a MacMini running the latest OS (10.11.5) and VLC (2.2.4) to run a video loop on a couple TV's in a retail setting. Nothing special, just a few high def videos showing brand anthems from some of the brands we cary. I have the videos in a looped playlist which is about 40 minutes long, on full screen, nothing fancy.

Problem is, overnight or every couple days VLC seems to drop the video. We can leave it on all day and it loops the files just fine. However randomly (usually when not in the store at night) the video just disappears and goes away and the playback bar keeps moving, like as if some one has hit the playlist button. Playback is still going, just not on the screen. The mac isn't resetting, that i know for sure.

I've got a feeling this is something simple and i'm just over thinking it all. Its just frustrating for me to have to remote into the damn thing every other day to start it up again.

Is your Mac set to go to sleep after x number of hours, set to sleep at a given time of day, or hard drive set to "put hard disks to sleep when possible" all are global OS X Power preferences. Also does your screen have a sleep mode that may be activated at a certain time. (I have a HP monitor that was set as default to sleep at 10:00pm.... it may also refer to it as "office hours")
