VLC 2.2.2 Missing MKV Subtitles after update

Hello everyone!
Since the 2.2.2 update certain MKV files are not showing subtitles. I've already tried clean install, deactivating/activating subtitles, even running external .ssa (same type of mkv subs) doesn't work.
PD. Sorry for the bad english
Here is the media info:

same problem here.
I had to go back to 2.2.1. can somebody explain this?
EDIT. I just tried. VLC 2.2.2 only read some fonts while VLC 2.2.1 can read any fonts (from an .ass subtitles file).

I have the same problem with ASS subtitles embedded in mkv files. But only in MacOS, not in Windows

Same problem -- subtitles don't display in .mkv files in VLC 2.2.2 on Mac OSX. It's been like this for a while. I've tried resetting preferences, changing the renderer, changing the font, no luck. Can we please have a fix?

Thanks! This file seems to work fine for me, though, once I manually enabled one subtitle.
You could try to delete your fontconfig cache (remove all files from the folder ~/Library/Caches/fontconfig/). Then, after activating the subtitle, VLC should automatically recreate that cache...

I removed the fontconfig cache and then, after activating subtitles VLC did automatically recreate the cache. But still subtitles are not displayed.
Tested wih VCL 2.2.2 in OS X 10.8.5
Same thing with OS X 10.10.3
???

Please try to reset your VLC preferences, with the reset button in the preferences panel.

Before I open a ticket, could you see if this still an issue with latest 3.0.0 nightly here:
http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/macosx-intel/

I tried the nightly 3.0.0 and with that version there is no problem with subtitles (at least for my subtitles, I tried some of them that I could not play with version 2.2.2).
For now I will just wait for version 2.2.3 (I can still use 2.2.1).

I think I am doing something wrong, because every time I try to open VLC 3.0.0 it crashes...

I have made some more tests with last nightly 3.0.0:
With OS X 10.8.5, it crashes at launch every time.
With OS X 10.10.3 it opens fine, it opens right and subtitles seems to work fine.

Good to know about 10.10.3. Could you include the crash log for the 10.8.? It might be useful for the devs, since 10.8.x is still meant to be targeted by VLC 3.0.x.
