OS X El Capitan Malware

Postby baboo10 » 27 Oct 2015 19:49

Hi, I just download VLC 2.2.1, I'm using OS X El Capitan 10.11. When I tried to open VLC I receive a message that VLC will damage my computer and I just have the option to cancel or to move the application to the trash. What can I do to fix this problem?

This is a known issue with version 2.2.1, which we will solve with the 2.2.2 update. To work around, get a 2.2 nightly build from http://nightlies.videolan.org, unzip it and right click on the app icon to open it to over-write the security check.

This is not malware, but a known problem with VLC 2.2.1 on the new OS X El Capitan. It will be fixed with VLC 2.2.2 which should be out very soon.
