Hi,

I download VLC according to directions, dragged app from .dmg to /Applications, dowble-clicked and VLC started. Chose "File/Open Disc...", with "DVD" checked and "Use DVD menus". Only option in "Device name" is "/dev/rdisk1", clicked "OK". The name of the DVD pops into the window, but after about 2 seconds VLC just quits and I can't start it. Any ideas on where to start????

THANKS!

Thanks, Fkuehne! - this does the trick. Go to your home folder, and inside the Library folder, you will find 'VLC Preferences' - delete it and then restart VLC. It will work fine now! By the way, my copy of VLC started crashing when I fiddled with the preference for the Interface - I ticked the box for MacOSX and then it started crashing. I'm not sure why there is such a box, as the default is the MacOSX interface anyway! Don't ask me why I was fiddling with these settings - It was late and I was tired....
