VLC Player 2.2.1, video keeps opening behind playlist

When VLC is not currently running and I double click on a file (wmv, avi) that has been associated with VLC Player, the application opens and then the video starts playing behind the playlist window. I think this is a bug in 2.2.1. When double clicking a video that opens in VLC, the video should automatically be in front. I did not have this problem in version 2.1.5.
