I just purchased Teenage mutant ninja turtles BR (still a fan :D ). i ripped it to my computer using makemkv. makemkv supported transformers extinction which had atmos and it had not problem. today however my copy of TMNT has ATMOS audio and the file with that audio format has no audio playback through VLC. i inspected the file using media inspector and the audio is there. i dont get any messages or errors, just no audio. i ripped a second version with the regular DD audio for now but True HD rocks!!. if anyone can help i would be totally stoked.

PS the file size of TMNT with atmos is 25.34g and the one with reg DD audio is only 21.61g. so the audio is there just wont play

VLC doesn't play Dolby Atmos. MPC-HC does.

Thanks for the reply. Do you know if VLC will soon be able to support Atmos sound?

In the OSX-Version too?
I thought the OS doesn't support HD-audio. What do You think, would it possible to patch the OSX-CoreAudio driver to get support of HD-Audio?
