I am trying to use VLC for hardsubbing, so I add my video (a h.264 quicktime), I set the profile specifying I want the subtitles overlayed on the video, and then I export. Once the export is completed, a prompt shows up saying that the file name is already in use, and if I want to overwrite it. So the first problem is that for some reason, once VLC is done exporting, it tries to export the same video again, in an endless loop. I know it's endless because if I hit "overwrite" it does the same thing all over again. So once I get the "overwrite" prompt I have to force quit VLC. The file is there, exported where I told VLC, but the subs aren't on it. I have tried with both ass and srt subs, both of which are read correctly when I play the video on VLC, but for some reason they aren't overlayed on the exported video. The sub file is, of course, named the same as the source video and in the same folder.
I am running 2.1.5 (intel 64 bit) on a macbook pro with OSX 10.9.5 on it.
Any ideas?
