What about launching VLC with a double click, going to File -> "Quick File Open...", selecting your file and watching it?

(sorry for the irony)

What to do 'bout AVIs on the mac

Postby Christian » 11 Sep 2005 22:45

What you do is this:

Select the AVI file on your desktop

Press command-i to get the info about the file

Change the default application for AVI-files to VLC and choose to do this for all files of the same kind

From now on, all AVIs will open with VLC just by being double-clicked

(They will also appear graphically with the VLC rather than the Quicktime icon on yout desktop)
