Sound problems

Postby Frankl » 22 Aug 2005 18:17

I've been using VLC with my Mac almost from the beginning but lately I've encountered a problem I don't understand.
I have a G4 Powerbook running on OS X.3.9
I build DVDs with iMovie then iDVD-HD. Maybe I should point out that the audio part in iMovie is an imported AIFF track.
Anyway the resulting DVD is fine and is read perfectly on any DVD player as well as with the Mac DVD Reader and also MPlayer OSX2. The only soft that can't read the audio is VLC !!!!
Any idea on the reasons why ? Could it be the fact that the audio tracks was AIFF ?
Thanks
Frank

Could it be the fact that the audio tracks was AIFF?
No, it's due to the audio codec actually used on the DVD. Could you update to the 0.8.2 release or download a current unstable nightly build and check whether this problem is still there? If yes, I'll add it to our bug-tracker finally.

BTW. Please report information about the exact audio-codec here (see Window -> Information).
