VLC crash disabling audio

Postby MacBryce » 17 Aug 2005 15:37

Hi guys; I love VLC but last night it crashed and I had to Force Quit it. For that point on, every movie I open (with Quicktime, mPlayer, Media Player or VLC) doesn't have any sound. It seems so audio codec or something is broken.

Can u guys help me out? It's very annoying not being able to use audio in any video project.

No, I didn't do anything special. It was a rather large file (298MB, AVI) and VLC came up with the "spinning rainbow" near the end. After a minute or 2 did use Force Quit to shut it down. No applications were running at the same time.

Please delete VLC's preferences (both the VLC-folder and org.videolan.vlc.plist in your preferences-folder [to be found in ~/Library/Preferences]) and most important: reboot your Mac.
Try again after that.

It works like a charm. Thanks a million.
