How to Add VLC to the "Open With" list in Snow Leopard

When I right-click a file name in (Snow Leopard) Finder and choose "Open With", I'd like to see VLC appear in the list of programs.
I'm aware of "Other" and then selecting from Applications.
I'm aware of "Change All" in Get Info.
Neither of those meets my need. I just want to right-click a file name and be able to choose VLC from the "Open With" list.
Thanks!!
Ed

I'm running Snow Leopard and I have that. Not sure why you don't.
Is your VLC player in your Applications folder?

My apologies. If I right-click on a video file (avi, mp4, etc.) VLC IS in the list.
I'd also like it to be in the list for jpg files. VLC does a nice quick job of creating a slideshow with a group of jpg files. Problem is, I have to go "find" it.
Sorry for the confusion.
Thanks for your reply.

Seems people have done it, but looks complicated and uses Terminal.

It does look complicated ... beyond my current capabilities!
Thanks!
