No audio from audio interface

I'm running VLC 2.0.7 on Mountain Lion. My audio interface is setup to be my default audio output device with my monitors hooked to it. They work fine in iTunes and for all my other audio functions, but when I play any type of A/V file in VLC, I get no audio response.

The available audio output modules listed in my preferences are:
  • Default
  • HAL AudioUnit Output
  • File Audio Output
  • Audio memory Output
  • Dummy audio Output
I tried each and every one of these with no luck.

Try VLC 2.1.0-pre1

Jean-Baptiste,

Thank you so much. I ended up installing - vlc-2.1.0-x86_64-20130703-0117.zip - and the sound is working great, but when I use the navigation bar to find a certain place in a video, it locks up and there is no response from VLC at all. What should I do about this?
