Single frames from video

Hi guys,

Just wondering what the best way to extract single frames from a video? Is the "snapshot" command really the best quality? Or is there a special app or toop for that? I have video footage from a gig my friend recorded and I need to get some stills for a poster were making. Unfortunately we dont have any still photos, just the video. Any recommendations?

Thanks!

You could try to the YUV output, but it's very tricky.

Thanks. I tried googling that but still not completely sure what it means :D But maybe Ill try the snapshot command. I just need the best possible quality, do you think it makes a difference what player I use? For example VLC, Quicktime or something.. Its just that my printer said they require resolution of at least 300dpi so that the quality will be acceptable when it comes out. The video footage is HD so this souldnt be a problem right? This is just a bit confusing. My printer is print24...

were you able to extract single frame from a video?
If I use snapshot - how can I save this image and where?
