VLC 2.0.6 and Blu-ray

Postby jwb1979 » 19 Apr 2013 13:12

With this latest update VLC will not play blu-ray discs on my Mac. I also updated the keys database and AACS dynamic library. What's strange is I found a free blu-ray player on the web and it will play the blu-ray discs while VLC won't.

Blu-Ray error
Your system AACS decoding library does not work. Missing keys?

I suspect the problem isn't related to specifically to VLC 2.0.6. For instance, I just tried installing the previous version (2.0.5) and still got the same error message about missing keys.

I really hope somebody can get to the bottom of this.

What's the free Blu Ray player you found that works? If you want feel free to PM me.

As I just said in the other Blu Ray thread...

I just downloaded Makemkv but it too won't work.

Looks like I found out what I need to know. Screw Blu Ray and AACS! If they want to make it so difficult to convert movies I purchased then I simply won't buy movies and their DRM bullshit. This $12 Blu Ray movie was my first and it'll be my last.

I'll download the movies for free on torrent and cop the quality loss rather than support the c*nts in Hollywood.
