Hello,

Could you please try to download the file again from this URL? Tell me if it works better for you.

http://ftp.free.org/mirrors/videolan/vl ... -2.0.5.dmg
or
http://ftp.free.org/mirrors/videolan/vl ... ntel64.dmg

Best,

If it doesn't work, please let us know how large each of the files are? What type of internet connection do you have?

Then it's clearly an issue with your connection since the file is perfectly valid on this mirror...

thank you all for your help.
i finally figured it out..
in my system preferences, it had some options that didnt allow any other app not from the app store to work on my system
once i unclicked it... i redownloaded and now ive got a functional vlc ... yay
thank you very much... very grateful.
