Burning Disc from VLN

When I try to make a dvd from a VLN file the picture is perfect but no sound. Any advise please?

codecs, fileformat, version information, burn utility etc etc etc

The only extra info I can give (not being very "up" in thses things) is when I try to burn a d.v.d. from a VLN file in Toast on my iMac 20"flat screen running OSX 10.3.9.

Toast 6 converts the file to a d.v.d. fine but on play back the picture is perfect but there is no sound.

I am using latest version of VLN. Sorry not to be of more help but would appreciate any help give.
