VLC kills MacOSX 10.4.

I opened a DivX Avi in VLC 0.8.2 under OSX 10.4.2,
for 5 Seconds VLC shows a white MovieWindow and the System freezes.
After that the Monitor only shows vertical Lines and the only Thing i can do, is a HARD-RESET by pressing the PowerButton.

This error emerged now already 2 times.

Sorry. I do not have a CrashReport. Nothing is logged after the Crash.

This is probably due to a last minute change i made to the OpenGL plugin in 0.8.2 I thought it would prevent more issues of the dreaded Green line bug, but instead it has proven to cause quite a few problems. It will be disabled again in the next version. In the meantime, you could use the Quartz ouput plugin. PReferences->Video (Check the "Advanced Options" checkbox to see it).

I'm using 0.8.2, but there is no quartz option available (and yes, I selected "advanced"). Why's this happening?

Of course there is, but did you click directly _on_ the "Output modules" - entry? This shows a single option called "video output module" which lets you select the module.
