I just got a new laptop, and sitting down to watch one of my favourite movies, I find that the subtitles are doing something... weird. The file has always correctly displayed subtitles before but now, on a different computer, it's doing... this:

I checked other videos, and they display their subtitles correctly, so far it's only been this one video. Is this a problem on VLC's end (that can be fixed), or is it a corruption of the file and I'm wasting everyone's time by asking?

EDIT It is, in fact, doing it some other videos.

Look, it's displaying like this in all my movies, so it isn't one corrupted file with weird subtitle data. How do I make this stop?

Known issue for ASS/SSA subtitles on OS X.

The 2.0.4 release fixed this problem for me. Hopefully its gone for good.

Hmm, I've been using 2.0.4 because I needed this fix too but now I have a new/different problem. When I enlarge VLC to full screen the subtitles (ASS funny huh because these sure are a pain in one) clam together. A quick fix is usually to disable and re-enable the subtitles but some of it (in the picture) still doesn't space properly. Fullscreen:

I don't have any crash logs if that's what you are meaning. No idea how to find other logs.
