Not for me.
No matter whether it's a webcam stream or moviestream (from my dreambox), it always freezes after a couple of seconds.
I'm running 10.8 on a Imac i3 and VLC 2.0.3.
Tried everything including reinstalling VLC but with no luck.
Any suggestions?

I just play regular video files and not streams. Do you have a test stream I could try?

Unfortunately those streams are only available on my private LAN, but it applies to any stream so you can test any stream you want....

First thing to try is to clear the VLC preferences. It shouldn't make a difference, but it has cleared up issues in the past.
Providing logs, messages, configuration info (VLC, OS, Hardware) and a clear explanation of the issue always helps the problem solvers help you, even if they don't end up solving the issue.
