Is there a way for VLC 2.0.1 to remember the settings used in the Video Effects window once the app is quit and relaunched?

If not is there a setting to always crop a video by a set amount in pixels like the picture above?

Preferences -> Show All -> Video -> Filters

This section can be confusing becausing the naming convention is inconsistent and has duplicates that correspond to 2 different filters.

Check the second "Video scaling filter" in the list. It should be just after "Deinterlacing video filter"

The under Filters in the left menu, go to "Cropadd" and make the adjustments you want and Save. You may have to restart VLC.

I wasn't aware of those steps to get Cropadd to work, thanks for the instructions :D
