problems of picture display on powerpc since version 2

Hello,
i have two macs powerpc g4 (an imac flat panel and an emac) and on both since vlc version 2 (i tried 2.0.0 and vlc 2.0.1) the picture is purple with vertical red lines. this doesn't happen with version 1.1.12
