[Resolved] New version 0.8.6 broken on DVR captured files

Postby neptune2000 » 11 Dec 2006 02:13

I have been very successful at running version 0.8.5 on DVR-captured HD files (.m2t extension), created by the FireWire SDK tools.

Once I updated to 0.8.6, everything broke. The files do not show (black screen, while I can hear some audio), and after a few seconds VLC eventually crashes.

I tried the same files on the VLC for Windows version 0.8.6, and this version works fine.

I am running with the latest Mac OS X 10.4 version, on a Powerbook 15in 1.67 GhZ.

Here is a link to a file that works with 0.8.5 and breaks 0.8.6:

I also started to upload the same file to the ftp site (incoming dir). It is 260B, so it will take a while with DSL.

Of course I meant 260MB. Sorry for the confusion.

Deleting the preferences file did the trick.
