Turn Off Playllst

I'm using a MacMini with Sequoia.

Is there a way to turn off the Playlist function? I don't want the media I play added to a Playlist.

No, this is not possible with the current versions of VLC. The playlist is an inherent part of playback. Obviously, it is cleared automatically when you quit the application.
