Open, play or convert .mvr file from V380 style camera?

Can anyone help me to get VLC to play .mvr files on my Mac from the memory card in my V380 style camera? The camera came with the V380Pro app which is supposed to enable saving clips to my iPhone but the download/save never gets past 0%. I tried to copy the files from the memory card to my Mac, but the format of the files is .mvr and I can't get VLC or any application to open, play, or export that video. VLC gives the message "Unidentified codec. VLC could not identify the audio or video codec." Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated Thanks.
