VLC 3.0.20 RENDERER fails to nVidia Shield using Macbook M1

Windows VLC RENDERERS to both my nVidia Shield Pros (Android TV v11)
Macbook M1 previously RENDERER to both my nVidia Shield Pros
however M1 MacOS 14.4.1 + VLC 3.0.20 no longer RENDERERS.

The TV flashes ChromeCast icon and movie title along bottom of TV screen but nothing else.
Factory reset MacBook. Factory reset nVidia Shields. same results.

Any advise / suggestion appreciated.
