downloading on line video with VLC

I have viewed various videos from the web explaining how to download you tube video. I have copied a link and xan get it to play in VLC. The next step in the instructions are to right click on the video and a save as should aopear but does not ? Are there instructions somwhere as tot the steps. I am using an imac running ghr latest Ventura. It has to been that I am missing a step somewherwe. Thanks
