Converting mov to m4v results in no sound

Postby nemesys » 20 Mar 2024 16:05

Twice now I have tried to convert a mov file into an m4v. The conversion works but there is no sound. I chose "Video - H.264 + MP3 (MP4)".

What am I doing wrong?

You do not need to convert mov to m4v. Assuming that your video is encoded in VC1, H264 or H265, it is the same file format and all you need to do is changing the file extension.

Well, I mentioned m4v because when doing to conversion, that's what VLC on Mac insists for the extension. I'll have to check if simply changing the extension works. Thanks.
