Metadata NOT saving..

Postby rogerTHIS » 11 Jul 2010 03:56

Hello,

I am new to the forum, but have been a user of VLC for quite some time.

I use VLC to watch all of my movies on since I have yet to have any issues doing so.
Only until recently when trying to edit the metadata of my files..

In the previous version, 1.05 I believe, I was unable to even make any edits what so ever.
For some reason anything I entered into the Media Information screen would immediately be deleted/erased..
No big changes were needed really, so I didn't worry too much.

NOW... Since I have updated to version 1.1.0. I have a need to edit my files via VLC.
All of my files names are edited as needed to be displayed, but when loaded into VLC they show up with random characters..

For example:
Finder File Name: Austin Powers - Man of Mystery.avi
VLC File Display: AUSTIN_POWERS_T1_DVDFAB##

I am able to get a step further in 1.1.0 than I was with 1.05 as in I can change and save metadata. But when I replay the video, it goes back to the random name.

I guess I should add that my movies were ripped from a PC using DVDFab..
The movies are played on a Mac and are .avi, .mkv, .mp4.

Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks for any assistance!

This bug (since VLC is supposed to be editing) is clearly in the "don't care" category, since no-one has addressed the reports and complaints going back at least since 2010.
