VLC freezing on opening VIDEO_TS folder

Hi there,

I have a few iso images made from both commercial and homemade DVDs through MakeMKV. When I mount these images and open their VIDEO_TS folder or try to play the DVD directly, VLC 3.0.18 stutters and most of the time just freezes then displays the BBoD and I have to force quit the software.

Obviously, the Apple-made DVD player software doesn't have any issue playing these. I can also compress the mounted ISO image as MP4 with Handbrake without any issue, so the issue really lies within VLC.

Any idea what's happening in VLC?
