File can’t be found

VLC Version 3.0.17.3 Vetinari (Apple Silicon) has started giving me an intermittent window saying that “ “Whatever.mk4” can’t be found" when the .mk4 file is on an external drive. It seems to have just started when I updated to Ventura.
