Weird bug that blocks "space" key and "playback" key on a keyboard from working

I watch/listen to video or audio, stop, and replay (during taking notes from a recorded lecture). I use my bluetooth apple keyboard and my M1 mac mini (new, bough it couple of months ago, it has the newest OS). A lot of times for some unknown reason, VLC stops responding to space key or a play key on my keyboard and after stoping the video, it doesn't want to restart even though I keep pressing space or play button many times (the focus is on the VLC window to make sure it gets the space bar). I have to move my mouse pointer to progress bar, click on the ball that shows where I am in time with the video (sorry, can't recall the name), and only then it unlocks again.

Firstly I thought it only happens when I speed or slow down the playback, but it also happens when I use normal speed, 1:00. Anyone knows what could be the reason for that?

Is the interface responsive when it happens ? Can you play/pause/seek via the widgets ?

Could you reproduce the issue with logs ?

Run "/Applications/VLC.app/Contents/MacOS/VLC -vv" from a terminal and copy paste the logs here.
