Turn off file titles, Leave on subtitles

I turned off file titles in my video preferences because they showed on every looped replay of small files.
But now I have to turn on subtitles every time I need them.
I want to be able to turn OFF file titles, but leave ON automatic video subtitles when they are available.

VLC 3.0.16
Mac OS 11.6.3
